Call for Women Entrepreneur of the Year Nominations

TORONTO - Are you a woman running a successful business? Then you might just qualify for a Women Entrepreneur of the Year Award. The Joseph L. Rotman School of Management and BMO Financial Group has issued a call for the 2003 awards. The deadline for nominations is June 6, 2003.

Awards will be given out in five categories: Start-Up, Innovation, Impact on Local Economy, Export, and Lifetime Achievement. To date over 3,000 women have been nominated and 65 awards have been handed out.

Here are the criteria for nominees:

  • Own and operate a profitable business in Canada for three full years as of May 30, 2003. Owners are considered to be those who founded the business and own or control the majority of voting shares.
  • The business is their primary source of income.
  • Responsible for the day-to-day management.
