Call for CED award nominations in Newfoundland

ST. JOHN’S - The province is looking for nominees for its third annual Community Economic Development Awards. The awards will be presented at a gala banquet on September 26 as part of RuralEXPO 2003.

Awards will be presented in six categories:

  • Excellence in Partnership
  • Outstanding Individual Achievement
  • Excellence in Fostering Entrepreneurship
  • Innovation in Education
  • Excellence in Youth Leadership
  • Lifetime Achievement

Nomination forms can be found online at http://www.gov.nl.ca/itrd/cedawards3.htm. Forms will be accepted until August 15th. Winners will be determined by the Newfoundland and Labrador Community Economic Development Awards Selection Committee.

RuralEXPO 2003 will run September 25-27. In addition to the awards the event will feature a conference to address community and business development, a Rural Business Exhibition, and a Youth Forum. For more information visit www.gov.nl.ca/ruralexpo.
