PEI businesses eligible to receive grants
By Michelle Collins | October 31, 2003
In an effort to foster partnerships between businesses, community groups, and agencies the province is offering a one-time grant of $3,000 to ten Community Access Program (CAP) locations. The CAP program was set up to offer everyone in the province public access to the Internet.
To qualify you must be able to demonstrate that you’ve found innovative ways to increase community involvement. Some examples include using channels such as e-commerce, distance education, or adaptive technology. The initiative should also have potential for revenue growth or result in time and cost savings.
The grant can be used for computer hardware or software, telecommunications, research and development or consulting fees. It cannot be used for web site development and maintenance costs.
