New Guide offers business help to Aboriginal Women

By Michelle Collins |

Calgary - A new business-planning guide is being offered to Aboriginal women. Titled Journey to Success, the guide was developed by the Federal/Provincial/Territorial/Aboriginal Forum (FPTA). The FPTA was formed in 1998 to address Aboriginal issues.

While researching the guide, FPTA members spoke with Aboriginal women, women’s organizations, and entrepreneurs to learn what challenges and issues they felt needed to be addressed. As a result, the guide is intended to name these unique barriers and provide solutions and advice for overcoming them.

Indian and Northern Affairs Canada (INAC) is working with provincial governments throughout the country to ensure that the guide is readily available. To get a copy of Journey to Success visit the closest INAC regional office, or call 819-997-0380.
