By Mario Cywinski |

As the flowers start to bloom ushering in the first signs of spring, the contest season is also in full bloom.

The latest contest comes from media giant, CTVglobemedia by way of its Globe and Mail newspaper and computer/networking company, Cisco.

Beginning April 2, any small to medium sized business (SMSB) with between 19 and 249 employees can enter the contest for a chance to win a cool $100,000 worth of Cisco equipment.

The $100,000 Business Incubator Challenge gives SMSB an opportunity to submit a proposal outlining how the company works, what it does and how it can grow.

As mentioned above, whoever is chosen as the winner will win equipment from Cisco which will include:

  • an onsite audit of current technology capabilities;
  • recommendation of potential technology solutions, based on your input and completed audit;
  • delivery of $100,000 of Cisco technology equipment;
  • one-time installation of equipment.

Also Cisco will create a video of the winning company, which will be showcased on the Globe and Mail's Business Incubator.

"Entrepreneurs see where they want to take their businesses but may need some help – resources, advice, funding – to get there," says Noel Hulsman, editor of The Business Incubator. "The $100,000 Business Incubator Challenge can give a smart businessperson with a great idea that extra lift to elevate their business to the next level of success and growth."

A panel of judges will be comprised of representatives from Cisco, the Globe and Mail and members of its Business Experts panel.

The contest closes on May 16; submissions can be made in both video and written format.
