Campaign aims to provide training for women entrepreneurs
By Mario Cywinski | February 21, 2009
An 18-month campaign was recently launched by Women Entrepreneurs of Canada (WEC) that aims to provide training to women entrepreneurs.
Ask and Answer launched on February 2, with the 'ask' portion taking place in 2009, and 'answer' in 2010. It will help women identify what they should be asking, who they should ask and how to ask to make a close. An online training seminar, to be available monthly, will feature Canadian woman giving presentations that include inspirational stories. A panel of expert will answer questions.
WEC will also give 10 affiliate organizations sponsorship dollars in 2009. Additionally, they will make 10 presentations lasting an hour each, teaching women how to make 'big asks'.
On the WEC web site (wec.ca), a section will ask women entrepreneurs four things.
-
If you could ask:
- the media for anything, what would it be?
- the Government for anything, what would it be?
- corporations for anything, what would it be?
- and the public for anything, what would it be?
The 'ask' portion will try to find all the needs that women entrepreneurs have and will give the 'answer' portion the results.
