Ontario's Aboriginal community to get $3.34 million

SAULT STE. MARIE - A new agreement between the province and the North Shore Tribal Council, Mamaweswen will see $3.34 million poured into the Aboriginal community over the next year. The money will go to the Ontario Aborigional Community Capital Grants Program (ACCGP) and will be administered by Mamaweswen.

The ACCGP program is part of the Building Aboriginal Economies strategy. A portion of the money is expected to go towards building and funding small business centres.

"Mamaweswen, the North Shore Tribal Council is looking forward to another productive year administering and delivering the Aboriginal Community Capital Grants program in partnership with the Ontario Native Affairs Secretariat and Ontario," said Norma Diamond, Chief Executive Officer, North Shore Tribal Council.
