SK: I wasn't charged PST when I bought a product. Do I need to charge PST when reselling?

By Saskatchewan Ministry of Finance |

Lovella asked:

We purchased crushed granite and were not charged PST. In
order for our company to resell this product do we charge our customers PST?

Saskatchewan Ministry of Finance answered:

Yes, you do charge your customers PST to resell the product. The reason you were not charged PST from the supplier could be because they were out of province, they were not registered, etc. Either way, when you buy a product and are not charged PST you have to either:

A) Self-assess for the PST; OR

B) Collect the PST when reselling the product, which is the route you would take in this case.
