You've found a great site, and you want to bookmark it. But wait; you've already bookmarked hundreds of other sites, and things are getting out of control!
What's a web surfer to do? Don't sweat it – manage it instead.
Using Netscape, you can sort your bookmarks into relevant folders. File your business links (and don't forget CanadaOne) in a business folder, news sites into a news folder .. and so on. To create these folders, click on the 'bookmarks' folder and select 'edit bookmarks'. On this new page you can right click and create new folders, mover folders around, and drag 'n drop links into appropriate folders.
For Netscape 3.* users, filing bookmarks can be a pain, as the bookmark is automatically inserted into the active 'new bookmarks folder'. Netscape 4.* users can bypass this process by using the 'file bookmarks' option on the bookmark menu. Here's how:
- Click on the bookmark button on your toolbar, or click on the 'communicator' link on the main text menu and scroll down to 'bookmarks'.
- The bookmark menu will then pop-up. Scroll to 'file bookmark' – this brings up the chain of folders that you have already created.
- Scroll to the folder where you want to file the bookmark (and any sub-folder if relevant), and click.
Voila! The link should now be filed in the folder of your choice.
