Microsoft Corporation has released a patch to its new Windows XP operating system, after a dangerous vulnerability in the system was discovered by eEye Digital Security.
In the security bulletin posted on Microsoft's website, the company strongly urges all Windows XP customers, and Windows 98, 98SE, or ME customers who have the Universal Plug and Play support enabled to patch their systems immediately.
Without the patch, the systems of these users are at risk of their machine being hacked and compromised at the system level.
