Fully bilingual and beautifully designed, ActiJob is a website with a clear business purpose. Staking its claim as Canada's first Job Central on the Internet, the site serves as a hub to major human resources corporations across Canada.
ActiJob takes advantage of new business opportunities that have been made possible by the advent of the Internet. High Canadian unemployment and difficulty in finding qualified skilled workers are serious issues that Canadians face today. ActiJob provides a solution to each of these issues. The site offers a place where Human Resources departments can regularly post jobs, offering a place on the Internet with a global reach through which employers can source potential employees. Job seekers benefit from a site that is easy to use, free, and in which posted jobs appear within hours of being issued by the employer.
Further to the traditional job market, the site creators have taken an innovative approach with their creation of a searchable self-employment database, where self-employed individuals can list themselves for a fee. Still in the testing stage, it will be interesting to watch the development of this section of the site.
ActiJob's design helps with the site's business purpose. Clean, quick loading, and inviting, the site is easily navigated. In fact this is one of the nicest website designs that I've seen yet for a Canadian business.
ActiJob is a TopSite that demonstrates how off-line businesses can be reworked into online business opportunities.
