Mining the Web
Searching starts with reverse engineering. Ask yourself:
What do I want to find?
Where is the best place to start my search? (search engines, directories and meta search engines)
Places to search include:
Yahoo.ca, Google.ca, MSN, Teoma, DogPile, Specialized Directories (e.g. Resources on CanadaOne)
Once you have done this you are ready to search. Now it's time to:
visualize the information you want to find
build a list of keywords, adding keywords to refine your search
use advanced search tools to limit searches
Boolean searching options typically include:+/-
