Vacation and maternity leave

By Ron Guest |

Khrystyna asked:

Would one accumulate vacation days while on paid leave (maternity parental leave) in Ontario being a full time employee at the company.

Ron Guest answered:

The maternity leave legislation is designed around protecting the person off on maternity leave by not losing anything from the employer in terms of benefits because they are off on maternity leave. This also applies to seniority for example which is accumulated while on maternity leave.
