Sara Best, President of Velo Communications Inc., is an award-winning communications professional with over ten years experience in government and the private sector.

Sara gained much of her communications expertise and experience serving as communications advisor and press secretary to a number of Ontario elected officials including the Honourable Sandra Pupatello and the Honourable Madeleine Meilleur.

Sara worked with Minister Pupatello when the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (ADOA) was drafted and passed.  She later accepted a position in the Communications Branch of the Ministry of Community and Social Services developing communications strategies, and writing and editing materials for the media, stakeholder groups, and the public specifically on the issue of accessibility, the AODA, and the standards being developed under the act.

Prior to working in government, Sara worked in the Corporate Communications branch of RBC Financial Group as assistant manager of media relations, and then as an advisor on employee communications. She developed messaging and distribution strategies for employee communications across RBC, provided issues management advice to senior executives, and acted as editor of Keeping In Touch, a quarterly magazine for RBC pensioners around the world.

Sara's work has earned her an Achieving Communications Excellence (ACE) Award from the Canadian Public Relations Society as well as a Dalton Pen Communications Award of Excellence from Warwick Publishing, USA.
