New version of Quickbooks brings updated features

By CO Staff @canadaone |

Oct. 6, 2009 -- Today's release of Quickbooks 2010 brings a suite of new features, including the ability to handle invoicing through email and the inclusion of multi-currency in the regular version of Quickbooks Pro.

Former multi-currency users, who remained on the older Quickbooks 2007 platform until this update, can now download currency exchange rates online rather than having to look-up and add this information.

Also new in Quickbooks 2010 is the company snapshot, a dashboard that lets you see critical aspects of your company's performance on a single screen.

Other new features that you will find in Quickbooks 2010 include:

  • a tax centre that makes it easier to remit GST and RST installments;
  • a live community that lets users ask each other questions without ever leaving the Quickbooks interface; and
  • greatly enhanced invoicing features that integrates with Microsoft Outlook.

The Quickbooks team also stress that their new platform is 25 per cent faster, allows for easier filtering of data and automates the scheduling of back-ups.

A new interface managed by Intuit will make it easier for small and medium-sized enterprise (SMEs) to share their company file with their accountant, without having to stop using the program of send the file through an insecure server.
