The legal requirements to have a bilingual websites.

Expert:

Arlene asked:

Is it mandatory to have a French translated website, if you want to publish a Canadian-wide corporate website??? If so, please provide source.

answered:

There is no legislation in place that requires that a Canadian-wide corporation to have a French translated website. There is legislation that applies to governments, but not Canadian companies.

However many corporations choose to have a bilingual website because it expands their potential customer base and reach a French target market.
