Free Javascript Essentials Workshop July 20, 2017 Victoria, BC Want a taste of the world of a Web Developer? Join us for a free evening of learning to code at MetaLab in Victoria! Led by members of the Lighthouse Labs team, come introduce yourself to the worlds most popular programming language: JavaScript! We'll be hosting workshop covering the basics of JS for people with little to no coding experience, where you'll get the chance to explore the fundamentals of web development by building a web-based chatroom in the same vein as Twitch or Slack. You'll be using HTML, CSS and JavaScript to build your app step by step with the help of our instructors, mentors and your workshop peers. The goal of the workshop is to give you an overview of what goes into building a web application, and hopefully spark a passion to learn more!
