Newapparatus is small independent engineering design company that provides one-stop, in-house prototype design and construction.
Owner Ian Bigham has a mechanical engineering degree, extensive CAD experience and multi-faceted skills in the machine shop. He has worked for many years in the oil and gas, metals and polymer industries mainly in research and development including mechanical testing, machine design, process control, instrumentation.
In 2015, Ian designed and built a 3D printer that can print in a variety of materials.Using 3D parametric modeling software, a part can be designed, sliced,converted to G-code, and printed. Depending on the complexity of the part, this could be accomplished the same day.
