Government of Alberta moves to new tender system

By Julie King |

Alberta -- As of May 31, 2004 purchasing opportunities for both the Government of Alberta and the Alberta MASH sector will move from MERX to the Alberta Purchasing Connection (APC).

Vendors will be able to search for purchasing opportunities on APC, but they must register to download purchasing opportunity information. There is no fee to search opportunities, register, or list in the Vendor Directory, which will give vendors additional exposure to Alberta’s public purchasing community.

The Government of Alberta includes:

  • departments,
  • agencies,
  • boards,
  • councils,
  • committees,
  • commissions,
  • commercial enterprises and
  • crown corporations.

The Alberta MASH sector consists of:

  • municipalities,
  • municipal organizations,
  • school boards and
  • publicly-funded academic,
  • health and social service entities.
