PEI: New web site helps businesses monitor province's planning and zoning

By Mario Cywinski |

PEI: Small businesses can now log on to PEI Planning Decisions on the province’s web site to view monitor planning decision and zoning amendments which can affect their business.

Information will be available at www.peiplanningdecisions.ca, on decisions that include:

  • preliminary approval and final approval of subdivisions;
  • development permits;
  • official plan amendments;
  • and zoning bylaw amendments.

"Today we are launching our new searchable databases that will allow all Islanders electronic access to decisions which will affect their communities," said Carolyn Bertram, Minister of Communities, Cultural Affairs and Labour. "From now on, all appealable planning decisions from both the provincial and municipal orders, will be posted on our new database."

Previously those needing information had to contact local provincial government officials and ask for information to be provided.

"The information available through this site will be updated on a regular basis, ensuring the most up-to-date and accurate information for residents," said Bertram.
