Joint announcement to close Canada / US border expected in 24-48 hours

CNN has reported that Canada and the US will issue a joint statement within 24-48 hours to announce that the Canada / US border will suspend non-essential travel.
CNN's source is a Trump administration official.
The agreement is said to be mutual and the two countries are reported to be working to define what constitutes "non-essential travel".
