National Mentoring Challenge Calls for Best Business Advice
By Jessica Squibb | October 31, 2010
The Canadian Youth Business Foundation (CYBF) is calling on all Canadians to share their best business advice with thousands of young entrepreneurs across the country.
In celebration of Global Entrepreneurship Week (GEW) Canada, which runs from November 15 to 21, 2010, CYBF is hosting the Great Canadian Mentoring Challenge, an online resource for new business owners.
Until November 30, 2010, enterprise experts and everyday Canadians are encouraged to visit www.mentorchallenge.ca to submit their best business tips, guidance and suggestions. Submissions, which are also accepted through the Twitter hashtag #gcmc, will be visible to anyone seeking advice on topics including marketing, social media, business planning, funding challenges, cash flow or entrepreneur skill development.
"Mentorship is pivotal to the success of young entrepreneurs. So much so that at CYBF we attribute our incredible 94 percent start-up success rate to the mentor/entrepreneur relationship," explains Norm Grey, mentoring director at CYBF. "Sharing your experience in business, even if just briefly, can really help guide entrepreneurs through the process of starting up and running their businesses successfully."
The Great Canadian Mentoring Challenge is one of hundreds of events, initiatives and activities taking place during GEW Canada, a global movement to inspire young people to embrace innovation, imagination and creativity through entrepreneurship. As hosts, CYBF is working with hundreds of grassroots, regional and national organizations to champion a culture of entrepreneurship and mentoring, through local, national and global initiatives.
