Small Business Week 2006: Celebrating Entrepreneurship!

By Julie King |

October is the month when entrepreneurship is celebrated across the country. It is a great time to network and build business relationship.

To celebrate CanadaOne is launching a totally new look along with some exciting new features! Foremost among these is the launch of a new career portal for job seekers and employers.

Our new career portal is a collaborative effort between ourselves and CareerOwl, a career portal that started as a joint project between 3 universities. When you post a job in our career centre your listing will also appear on the Career Owl website, which boasts over 148,671 registered job seekers.

We chose to partner with Career Owl because of their large user base coupled with very affordable pricing for small businesses.

For Small Business Week we are launching Conversations with Entrepreneurs, a new series where we talk to entrepreneurs in different fields to learn about their businesses and business challenges. We start things off with our conversation with Rory Scherer, an online entrepreneur.

We are also excited to announce the beta launch of our new "mapped" Canadian business directory. Working with Google Earth users will now see a map indicating search matches when they do an advanced search in this new beta version of our directory. Try it out now - just enter a city or province and some business keywords!

We hope you like the new look of CanadaOne and look forward, as always, to making Canadaone the place to visit for entrepreneurs looking to start, run or grow their businesses.

Yours truly,
